A 30-year-old Hamilton County woman has been arrested and charged with the statutory rape of a 15-year-old boy, a sheriff's office spokeswoman said Monday.
After a March 10 complaint by a relative of the teen, law enforcement personnel investigated and confirmed the sexual contact, said Janice Atkinson, public information officer for the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.
Ms. Atkinson said the woman, Heather Mastin Kimsey, is not a teacher, but she could not divulge further information about the investigation.
Ms. Kimsey, 30, and the boy began having contact in February and it escalated into a sexual relationship, Ms. Atkinson said.
Ms. Kimsey was arrested Friday, Ms. Atkinson said, charged with aggravated statutory rape and taken to the Hamilton County Jail. She has a Hamilton County General Sessions Court appearance scheduled for April 6.
