Smokies beat Lookouts

Chattanooga starting pitcher Will Savage had a rare rough night Wednesday, allowing six runs on 12 hits in five innings as Tennessee beat the Lookouts 8-3 to square the series at two wins apiece.

The Smokies opened the bottom of the first inning with singles by James Adduci, Jae-Hoon Ha and Blake Lalli and took a 2-0 lead, and a Jonathan Mota home run to center in the fourth put Tennessee up 5-1.

Chattanooga (35-23) pulled within 6-3 in the sixth on RBI singles to right by Travis Denker and Elian Herrera, but the Smokies (34-25) took an 8-3 lead in the seventh on Steve Clevenger's two-run homer to right.

Game five of a five-game series at Tennessee is tonight at 7:15.

Allen Webster (4-3, 5.29) is scheduled to start for the Lookouts, with Larry Saurez (0-1, 4.85) scheduled for the Smokies.
