Jerry Sandusky

about Clay Bennett...

The son of a career army officer, Bennett led a nomadic life, attending ten different schools before graduating in 1980 from the University of North Alabama with degrees in Art and History. After brief stints as a staff artist at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and the Fayetteville (NC) Times, he went on to serve as the editorial cartoonist for the St. Petersburg Times (1981-1994) and The Christian Science Monitor (1997-2007), before joining the staff of the ...

Apparently Sandusky had been on a recruiting trip as recently as April 2011. He was in South Carolina trying to convince high school players to attend Penn State. It's almost as if he was daring the university to do something about it. If you tell on me, you'll lose millions and millions of dollars and your reputation will be ruined. You won't be able to recruit anymore. The fact is they were more interested in their reputation and the potential lost revenue, rather than protecting children from this predator.

Below, A song. Create and imagine your own tune and add more words to the song, if you wish:

Everybody's talkin', but no one's uttering a word out loud {whispers}..... Everybody's hearin'...somethin'(rumors}...but no one's sayin' anything.

Everybody....watched......but no one saw a thing....

What difference does it make? Paterno and his gang who remained silent should be on their way to the Penn right along with Sandusky.

The whole story will be worse than what we now know if a thorough investigation is conducted. One question I haven't seen ask or answered is what the hell is a kid under 18 doing in an an adult locker room without being with a parent? There has been nothing said about the DA that previously investigated the charges then vanished and has not since been heard from.

November 13, 2011 at 11:37 a.m.
lumpy said...

I think it's quite likely that the DA was murdered. It's not a stretch, given how much money and power is involved, to believe boosters or others involved with the university, or maybe even the NCAA, would want someone eliminated for blowing the lid off of something so foul and evil. This has to be much bigger than one man or why would anyone go to such lengths to save his such a horrible person. He must have a lot on that university.

With so many powerful people knowing, but remaining silent, this could very well turn out to be one of those powerfully pedophilia rings that operates worldwide with powerful people from powerful countries involved that's come under scrutiny in recent years. Such operations are run by the powerfully wealthy and upper-classes that could possibly expose powerful leaders. Maybe that's why that D.A. who originally investigated mysteriously vanished without a trace?

Pedophiles cannot be rehabilitated... They will always return to their perverted ways...Other anti-social criminals will perhaps burn out and find a place in society...Pedophiles never burn out until they are snuffed out...All adults who turned a blind eye to Sandusky's violent acts upon helpless children should have to pay dearly for their cowardly complacence...Clay, your cartoon is very clever. Again I'm left thinking, why didn't I think of that?

Anyone who knew about Sandusky's crimes against these young boys and failed to REPORT it to the authorities should be sent to jail right along with him. There is NO EXCUSE for any one of them who had direct knowledge or even suspicion of his crimes not to have reported it to the police. NO EXCUSE. Reporting it to their superiors and not going any further after the superiors failed to do anything is not an excuse.
Just the idea one of the coaches actually witnessed such a vile act of violence against a 10 year old boy and didn't do anymore than tell his own father is unbelievable!!! I can understand his shock and disgust at Sandusky but did he not realize he had a moral obligation that outweighed his job security to report it to the police? This whole story is a tragedy for the victims and their families.

I immediately caught the humor and sarcasm in noog's post. I think he/she was referring to how the right always try to blame everything on Obama. That they'd find some way to blame this on him too.

I can't quite understand why those like nooga, who choose to subscribe so religiously to party politics feel the need to assume that everyone else does the same and is in rank with the opposing party.

I guess that's the sick paranoia that the ole "vote for me" song & dance will generate within, when one only digests what they are fed by their "party leaders".

Let me make this clear, I do not watch political opinion/"news" on television, nor do I follow the idiot repubs or the dingbat dems.

I am willing to compare my charitable contributions to anyone in my income category paying around 28% income tax. I have no problem with contributing to local worthwhile charities like the community kitchen, children's hospital, speech and hearing center, salvation army, St Judes, united way all which apply a high percent of donations to the intended cause. I despise the sloppy, bloated, frivolous, expensive federal government that causes everything they touch to become more expensive confiscating money and calling it taxes that they take a big bite out of then indiscriminately distribute it.

I am convinced the federal government is so big no one human or group of humans can manage it. Why not qualify charities, regulate them and allow people to "reduce" their taxes by up to 20% of the taxes they owe? Cut out or "fire" all the unelected Czars they have abdicated to and abolish at least five departments. Quit making prostitutes out of local and state governments with grants, subsidies etc. and force them to respond to citizens needs and preferences as provided in the constitution. Both parties suck and neither will address the root cause of the economic woes and unemployment. They are both owned they just have different owners. I hope you don't think Obama or anyone else in Washington D.C. in either party actually give a damn if people are hungry and unemployed. They all have one objective which is to retain their position of power and prestige and exemptions from the laws they pass for everyone else.

We want the federal government out of our business and to stop taxing us until disaster strikes. Then we blame the federal government for not acting fast enough to provide help.

I don't think anyone here wants to go back to the days when Americans had to dump their own slop jars.

Any Who Who Who, how did this turn from a story about a perverted pedophile who preyed on young boys for over a decade, to a story about taxes, the federal government and money?
