tin man need a heart and a memory--needs to repent of his disgusting hatred, and open his mind? Speaker Gingrich found deficits and (sort of) balanced the budget; President Obama found deficits and enlarged them, with, his T-sec admitted, no plan to end them. Speaker Gingrich presided over an economy that created jobs; President Obama over one that lost jobs, and over a "jobless recovery." Speaker Gingrich got President Clinton (D) to sign off on welfare reform; President Obama campaigned against the "individual mandate," then rammed it through (?) on party-line votes with various shenanigans.

Newt committed adultery, but maybe he has repented; haven't heard anything lately, and have read he admits his faults. He ran a disorganized campaign; maybe he'd run a disorganized Presidency, though even so I'm sure he'd be right more often, by a lot, than our current President. Unlike tinny and other hate-filled liberals, Newt tried somewhat to be nice to his rivals/enemies.

Not According to the Center For American Progress, Andy. excerpt: " There are, indeed, two main heroes in the story of the remarkable budget surplus of 1998, but neither of them are Newt Gingrich or his Republican Congress. It turns out that their contribution to deficit reduction did more harm than good. No, the true heroes of deficit reduction were, first, President Clinton, whose 1993 budget—passed without a single Republican vote—raised taxes on the wealthy and dramatically altered the nation’s fiscal path, and second, a steadily improving economy. Those two factors, and particularly the interaction between them, account for virtually the entire fiscal improvement. Contrary to the Gingrich assertion, legislation passed by the Republican-led Congress of 1995 through 1997 combined to actually worsen the fiscal situation—albeit slightly.

Welcome 2.... The Center For American Progress??? Are you serious? They are a ultra liberal "think tank" (And I use the term "think" loosely) who is closely aligned with Obama. To quote them is like calling Fidel Castro a good source for the affects of communism around the world. These guys are as left-wing and biased as they get.

The truth is that without Gingrich and the Republican congress Clinton would have no incentive to change anything. If it was liberal policies then why didn't things change in the first 2 years of Clinton's first term.

What you had was Newt, a so-called conservative that was really a moderate pragmatist, who turned right at election time along with a moderate Republican senate. You also had Clinton, a so-called liberal president who balanced every budget as governor of Arkansas who was really a moderate.

Two people who went against their base, cut a deal and got a surplus. Without both of them it would not have been possible. To say anything else is just partisan bull crap.

The Center For American Progress?......Give me a break. Surely your not that dumb.

I assume Newtie saw politics as an opportunity by it being Georgia as a way to gain power.

As we all know, newtie led the way to getting Clinton fired, all the while as he was having a affair, he was still married when he ended up with that plastic thing he calls a wife.

I say he's deliberately trying to destroy the free market based economy. Every policy he's done or tried is proof. The funny thing is, the liberals who support Obama must live in the same crappy economy Obama gives us. I guess making republicans unhappy is more important than stopping the bleeding. Your willingingness to speak with such an obvious forked tongue about the George W. Bush era is downright creepy, Joneses. Indeed, your devious rhetoric suggests you are a man without a conscience – or should I say a calculating neo-con advocate without a conscience?

Do you really think the American people have forgotten the thousands and thousands of innocent men, women, and children who were either permanently maimed or lost their lives as a direct result of the arrogant lies created and promoted by the Bush/Cheney administration?

Do you really think America has forgotten how the Bush/Cheney Administration mocked and ignored Secretary of the Treasury Paul O’Neill’s warnings about the administration's tax cuts, federal budget deficits, and the destructive neo conservative ideology within the administration?

Indeed, do you really think America has forgotten the Project for the New American Century idealogy along with its arrogant officials like Donald Rumsfeld, Paul Wolfowitz, Richard Perle, John Bolton, Elliot Abrams, Richard Armitage, Gary Bauer, Jeane Kirkpatrick, Donald Kagan, Robert Kagan, John E “Jeb” Bush, William Kristol, and Dick Cheney?

Do you really think the American people have forgotten Bush/Cheney Administration leaders like Republican Senator Tom Delay who actively promoted religious warfare and worked to incorporate End-Time Armageddon dogma into America’s domestic and foreign policies?

Do you really think American Catholics have forgotten that their own leader, Pope John Paul II, declared that the Bush/Cheney's Administration’s war with Iraq as “illegal and unjust?”

Is this the Hope and Change all of you Obama supporters were expecting when he took office?

Bush signed the Patriot Act into law and like the tax cuts when the Patriot Act expired Obama extended it.

Military tribunals, after promising to end military tribunals and have terrorist tried in civilian courts, Obama continues to use military tribunals as Bush did.

Gitmo. After signing an executive order to close Gitmo, terrorist are still at Gitmo.

Both used a military surge. Obama criticized Bush saying the surge would not work in Iraq, yet Obama used a military surge in Afghanistan. Where have Cindy Sheehan, Code Pink and other protestors gone now that Obama has entered the White House?

Bush enacted a tax cut that the liberals say benefited the wealthy. After those tax cuts expired Obama signed them into law for another two years. They are now the Obama tax cuts.

Bush increased government spending. Obama greatly increased government spending.

Bush implemented stimulus policies. Obama implemented a bigger stimulus policy.

Bush increased regulation. Obama increased even more regulation.

Both bailed out politically connected companies, and Obama continues to bail out politically connected companies.

Bush created a new health care entitlement program. Obama created a massive new health care entitlement program.

Blubs, Bush was not a true conservative, he never should have created the TSA, or signed Medicare Part D into law, the two stimulus bills, TARP and he should have used his veto pen on spending increases to name a few. Liberals say how Bush desatroyed the country and yet Obama continues to use some of the Bush’s policies, which Obama says got us into this mess. How do you feel knowing the person you voted for (Obama) continues to use the policies of Bush. Is this the Hope and Change you were expecting?

Until Scott Brown was elected to take the Senate seat left open by the death of Kennedy, the democrats did have full control of both the House and the Senate and failed to address the tax issue. I guess you forgot this little fact. Just like Reid has failed to bring a budget up for a vote in over three years and continues to pass CR’s.

I’m not going to defend Romney on TARP as that was wrong along with the other bailout plans that were given.

No, I think Mitt Romney is the one that is being less than truthful about GM:

April 30, 2012 - Mitt Romney’s position on GM bailout:

Romney’s “position on the bailout was exactly what President Obama followed. I know it infuriates them to hear that. The only economic success that President Obama has had is because he followed Mitt Romney’s advice.” [Eric Fehrnstrom, senior adviser to the Romney campaign]

Feb 4, 2012 - Mitt Romney’s position on GM bailout:

“The president tells us that without his intervention things in Detroit would be worse. I believe that without his intervention things there would be better.”

What case is this, BobMKE? To date, you’ve only supported ugly meanspirited accusations against President Obama that have do not have the slightest bit of relevance to any real issue that America faces today. Come back and talk when you actually have something to discuss besides phony crap like "fake birth certificates" and "transgender prostitute nannies."

Your use of the words "substance" and ‘logic” is amusing in this case, BobMKE. I challenge you to apply a bit of "logic" to the accusations that you praise. Indeed, please demonstrate to us the use of logic behind Joneses' accusations – a simple three-line syllogism will do.
