A DeKalb County, Ala., man is recovering from severe stab wounds to his stomach he received during a fight with an acquaintance over a woman, DeKalb County sheriff’s officials said.
The victim’s assailant is expected to turn himself in this week, officials say.
The fight broke out Friday at a home on Tumlin Road in the Shiloh community, sheriff’s spokeswoman Stanna Guice said. When deputies arrived they found Brian Scott Daniel, 30, bleeding profusely.
Daniel told investigators that an acquaintance named Jonathan Calvin Herren, 27, came to the home and the two began fighting, Guice said.
After the stabbing, witnesses said Herren fled in a small car later found abandoned in the Lebanon, Ala., area, Guice said.
Officials say Herren has been located and is expected to come to the sheriff’s office with his attorney to make a statement.
After receiving emergency medical treatment Daniel was airlifted to Huntsville Hospital, where he remains in stable condition, Guice said.
