U.S. Rep. Chuck Fleischmann has canceled this evening’s campaign event in Chattanooga featuring former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee.
According to a Fleischmann spokesman, the congressman decided to return to Washington for a vote on defense appropriations.
The spokesman said the campaign is working to reschedule the Huckabee event before the Aug. 2 Republican primary election.
Fleischmann and Huckabee were originally scheduled to appear today at 5:45 p.m. at the Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport and later in Campbell County.
