Admission is $10 today and free with a 2012 Riverbend pin. Tickets are available for puchase online at http://bessiesmithstrut.eventbrite.com/ and can be purchased at the Bessie Smith Cultural Center, Champy’s, Maggie G’s, Mary’s Lounge and Kangaroo gas stations.

Bessie Smith Strut officials confirmed this morning that today’s event will go on, rain or shine. There are no plans to move the event indoors.

The National Weather Service predicts a 100 percent chance of precipitation today, with thunderstorms possible. Tonight showers are likely and the chance of precipitation is 60 percent.
