Hamilton County commissioners laid out a process for appointing a replacement for District 3 School Board member Everett Fairchild, who announced he will resign effective March 15.

Commissioners will take applications on March 15-16 and conduct one-on-one interviews the following two weeks. They plan to appoint a replacement on March 29.

Commissioner Mitch McClure said he'll contact Parent Teacher Associations about possibly holding a public forum. Chairman Larry Henry talked about potential dates of March 22 or 27.
