Donating your spare change on Friday can help families of hospitalized children.
Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Chattanooga announces the "Join Us For 1 Day of Giving" campaign will be held Friday, 7-10:30 a.m., at area McDonald's restaurants and Regions Banks.
Volunteers will be on hand with donation buckets encouraging customers to drop in their spare change to help Ronald McDonald House Charities.
Members of the Chattanooga Fire Department, Dalton Fire Department and Catoosa County Fire Department will be volunteering. UTC coaches Wes Moore, John Schulman and Russ Huesman will lend a hand along with Signal Mountain Middle-High School cheerleaders, Hixson High School's football team and other community groups.
Donating a few loose coins may not seem like much, but organizers say that last year this one-day effort raised more than $4,000 locally.
