The Gift

about Clay Bennett...

The son of a career army officer, Bennett led a nomadic life, attending ten different schools before graduating in 1980 from the University of North Alabama with degrees in Art and History. After brief stints as a staff artist at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and the Fayetteville (NC) Times, he went on to serve as the editorial cartoonist for the St. Petersburg Times (1981-1994) and The Christian Science Monitor (1997-2007), before joining the staff of the ...

Go #13. The economy must be pretty good. Go shopping, notice how many people are fat and sloppily dressed. They are spending money on credit cards like crazy. The roads are crowded and restaurants are full. They know who Santa Claus is and that he is up north in D.C. but 7 of 10 can't tell you who the VP or the senate majority leader is. Ironically about the same number receiving government assistance of some kind.

Unemployment down a little, could this be part of it? Senior administration officials told reporters that Jan. 1 will not be a holiday for people working the exchanges. They will have staff working at call-in centers — and say 800,000 staffers have been added, with 2,000 trained customer service reps across 17 sites nationwide.

The net number of added jobs has not been 800,000. Who is paying those people? 16,000 new IRS agents, fix and maintain the web site, an appointed panel of highly compensated people plus various other additions. It may have been cheaper to buy those in need insurance.

Laughable. We have a jackass in the White House who only displays passion for "selfies", campaigning and vacationing, and everyone else get's criticized but him. He has the knack for making it seem that he's not part of the D.C.mess even though he's been there for nearly 6 years.

Why are you Democrats bitching about Boehner and the establishment GOP when they're afraid to stand up to Obama, and are just Democrat Party lite? Democrats always get what they want. They have the media in their back pocket.

Congressman and Congresswomen earn their money for the most part, and work pretty hard. The Senate is a worthless body that's a gold mine for those who stay in long enough. THE person who has not earned his money, is lazy, disrespectful of the people and the Constitution, and won't take responsibility for anything is Obama. If he were in any other job he would've been fired long, long ago.

Yea, Dear Leader! You're just so brilliant and you look so good! All the pajama boys our there, the eunuchs, in their onsies, holding their cup of cocoa in both hands get a hard on as they listen to Obama speak. What a f#@$*d up country.

Also, American's are sick of political correctness. The Duck Dynasty brigade will rise up by the millions and run Democrats out of office come the mid terms!

Regarding Clay's continued assault on Christmas, I find that a LOT of Democrats, especially white ones, come from dyfunctional homes, where their parents were for example were alcholics and did absolutely nothing regarding Christmas. These awful childhoods have spawned a great deal of dysfunctional Democratic voters that hate everything American especially Christmas. Like Clay, they try to take their bad childhood out on the rest of us. Their cynical, negative, victimization of everything including themselves, along with their atheism make them boring, spiritless individuals without a plan and without a future. I do my best to stay away from these losers as they are so, so sad and boring.

A&E is a private company and I believe they are free to do whatever they like in order to protect the company's image. Maybe we need government to step in at A&E and order that the guy be able to go back to the show? The 1st Amendment guarantees a freedom of speech, but it doesn't guarantee a lack of consequences that may occur when said person exercises that right.

Again, I have never watched the show, but I raised this point to many others. Has it ever occurred to anyone that this may be just one big publicity stunt being used to gather more attention to the show?

From the Washington Post:

In the first post on our House forecasting model for the 2014 election, we estimated that, as of this moment, Republicans are likely to gain five seats in the House of Representatives.

This enables us to answer questions such as, “What is the chance that the Democrats retake the House?”

In short, what we do is lots of simulations based on our model’s results. The uncertainty underlying the model means that simulations will generate a range of forecasts. The question is, how many of those simulations forecast that the Democrats would win 218 or more seats?

The answer is very few. Just over 1 percent, in fact.

Do I hear a Lame Duck ... Bye, bye second term policy initiatives !!

Guess you’ve never heard of vigilantism or Posse comitatus (power of the community). Consider that you own a business in a predominantly islamic community and you sell alcoholic beverages. The community leaders tell you to stop selling them or you would suffer a punishment. Do you contact the legal authorities or do you relent because of the possibility that they could not or would not assist you and keep you safe.

The U.S. has a rich history of this type of activity although not islamic based until recently but many islamic ghetto areas of European cities are already plagued with it in a growing presence. Many of those cities’ legal agencies allow this to occur as long as the violence does not get out of hand and the local communities continue to support the community based law.

If you don’t constantly oppose such anti-freedom activities then you are preparing fertile ground for it to flourish.
