about Clay Bennett...

The son of a career army officer, Bennett led a nomadic life, attending ten different schools before graduating in 1980 from the University of North Alabama with degrees in Art and History. After brief stints as a staff artist at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and the Fayetteville (NC) Times, he went on to serve as the editorial cartoonist for the St. Petersburg Times (1981-1994) and The Christian Science Monitor (1997-2007), before joining the staff of the ...

According to the accounting tea-baggers and others do, regarding the finances of this nation, many would make the statement that the United States is "Dead Broke" would they not?

I am "other" and not a tea party supporter. What would call it if not broke? Would you say slightly in arrears? When do you consider a person or country broke? Is the fact it is not possible to ever pay your debt real close to being broke? Not only are we broke we are becoming more so daily. The republicans mouth the words about the budget being balanced but they actually only advocate slowing the rate of debt growth. The system makes it impossible to address the issue and be elected. A prevailing ignorance of economics and denial of reality by voters will assure a continuation on the path we are following. I am sure anyone not promising the most desired free stuff will be elected.

I finally realized your support is self serving and what you think will serve you best and not what is best for the country.

Yeah, librul, there's an overwhelming display of praise for Isreal in the liberal dominated media. Even Jews in this country have a long history of voting for liberal Democrats.

"killing machine" Yeah, you can say that with all seriousness in a world dominated by a real killing machine, extremist Islam. Which has been slaughtering and murdering since 500 a.d.

Where's the Israeli "convert or die" mentality, or the attempts to take over countries. Where are these countries conquered by Israel?

If Muslims back off of their call for the extermination of Jews, and the destruction of Israel, then you'll see peace..at least from the Israeli side.

Israel has every right to defend itself and it's inclusive country. The only one in the Middle East.

A man was involved in a terrible car accident. Because of the accident he lost one of his eyes. The doctor explained to him that he could get a fake eye to replace the real one. So the man agrees and chooses the least expensive. A wooden eye. Some months pass and the mans friends come over to visit him. They are very worried because he has not been out of the house for months. They tell him that there is a party at another friends house that night. The man finally agrees to go. When they get there people are dancing and having a good time. The man finds a seat in the corner and remains there. The friends find the man again and tell him he needs to get up and dance. Then from across the room a women appears. She is looking at the man sitting in the corner. The mans friends point her out. So he walks over to her to ask her to dance. As he gets closer he realizes she has a hair lip. He thinks to himself , what a pair we would make. My wooden eye and her hair lip. The man walked up to the woman and asked if she would like to dance? And her replay is would I , would I. He points back at her and says hair lip, hair lip.

I owe you nothing in the form of explanation, but the fact of the matter is that I was dragged kicking and screaming and basically forced to file for disability.

I'm not a quitter. I never have been.

But I had absolutely no hope for medical coverage without filing for disability and I qualified for it under 5 different sets of criteria. That has expanded to seven areas of criteria since I have filed.

Since being approved, I've lost a leg and I've had a sextuple bypass.

Look around you Fairmon; no one is up in arms over the national debt any longer. How long has it been since anyone got on TV and bemoaned what Congress spends?

The Tea Party has even moved on from it to strictly bashing the President for immigration.

Now you're free to believe anything you so desire, but you are not entitled to your own facts.

You have never seen me advocate for freebies.

I draw a check, I have Parts A,B & D Medicare and that's it. I pay my premiums like everyone else for my parts B & D.

I am eligible for a bunch of other stuff, but I will not cross that line.

No, inq, you genius, with me it's that HAMAS, and a bunch of other extremist Muslim Countries and groups, want to exterminate all Jews and destroy the modern state of Israel. Just like they want to exterminate anyone who won't accept Islam. That's it. It has nothing to do with that idiotic theory you posted or anything else.

Extremist Islam is in incompatible with freedom and peace.

Right now in Iraq extremist Muslims are slaughtering or forcing Christians to leave Iraq. They're slaughtering Africans of native religions as well. That's extremism.

"extremist Christians" Who are they? To you libs, any Christian who states what he believes is put on par with the savage behavior of extremist Muslims. You don't know what you're talking about.

For instance. I happen to believe that Homosexuality is wrong on many levels. But, I also believe someone's behavior and lifestyle is not something I can control, and have any say in. It's their call. This is a free country and I have no right to interfere in their private lives. On the other hand, an extremist Muslim believes he can kill a homosexual because the Koran backs him on it. They execute homosexuals in Islamic countries. That couldn't be more wrong.

In my opinion we're all sinners. I should be able to state that homosexuality is wrong, if I want. But, I can judge them and certainly have no right to bring harm to them.

To me the most savage thing going on this country is the exterminationb of the unborn for the sake of convenience.

You don't think it is possible for a group to start seizing on thoe words above, found in the Christian Bible, and start killing people based on them?

It's only a matter of time before religious zealots start some crap in this nation based on obscure passages found in a Bible.

The fact of the matter is that the Bible is just as violent as the Quran. It has just as many obscure, instructive, violence inciting language as any Quran has.

Mosul is the second-largest city in Iraq and the place where many Christians believe Jonah was buried. Since the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (Isis) rode into town, their faith has been forced underground. Bells have been silenced, the hijab enforced with bullets. Tens of thousands fled after being offered an unattractive choice: convert, pay a religious tax, or be put to the sword. The levy was unaffordable. According to one local news agency, Isis troops entered the house of a poor Christian and, when they didn’t get what they wanted, the soldiers raped the mother and daughter in front of their husband and father. He committed suicide out of grief. These are not nice people

It is just a fact that they are violent in the Middle East and the US and if you forgot Muslims killed 3000 people in this country on 911. Let's see, last year it was the Tsarnaev brother in Boston, and here are a few more:

2/7/2013 USA, Buena Vista, NJ 2 killed, A Muslim targets and beheads two Christian Coptic immigrants. 3/24/2013 USA Ashtabula, OH 1 A Muslim convert walks into a church service with a Quran and guns down his Christian father while praising Allah. 4/15/2013 USA Boston, MA 3 killed, 264 wounded, Foreign-born Muslims describing themselves as 'very religious' detonate two bombs packed with ball bearings at the Boston Marathon, killing three people and causing several more to lose limbs. 4/19/2013 USA Boston, MA 1 killed, 1 wounded, Jihadists gun down a university police officer sitting in his car. 8/4/2013 USA Richmond, CA 1 killed A convert "on a mission from Allah" stabs a store clerk to death. 3/6/2014 USA Port Bolivar, TX 2 killed, A Muslim man shoots his lesbian daughter and her lover to death and leaves a copy of the Quran open to a page condemning homosexuality.

In the same period of time there has been one Christian killing Muslim attack in the US.

The Bible doesn't even give you the option of converting. If you're guilty of worshipping something other than the one and true God, you're to be killed

===============================

This was to the nation of Israel only who God made a covenant with in which the law was given and the Israelites agreed to when they were separated to serve the one and only true God to the exclusion of the false heathen gods.

We are under a NEW COVENANT and no similar commands are given to those who reject Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior such as the very anti Christ Anthony Provancher.

However, unless this strident anti Christ repents he will ultimately face Jesus in Judgment and spend eternity in hell.

Their cheap, uninformed rhetoric is nothing more than hypocrisy because what they say excludes more than it includes.

Connie, it might surprise you to learn that a full third of all Christians believe that Jesus did sin while he was here on Earth.

One-third!!

Lesson time!!

The following three scriptural references prove positively that Jesus did sin and that he was not God;

Mark 10:17-18 - "And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life? And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God."

Matthew 19:16-17 & Luke 18:18-19 both basically mimic the above two sentences of scripture.

That's a triple whammy!!

You can argue with me all day long Connie, but you cannot argue with the Bible, you claim to be God's word!!

Good luck trying to!!

"Jesus sinned"

"Jesus cannot be God"

"The very fact that Jesus was given birth, and came out as little helpless small baby is enough to refute the claim that Jesus is God."

"It is utter blasphemy to claim that God came out of a women like all people, it is utter blasphemy to claim God came out crying and screaming and being helpless and weak."

"Such nonsense is insulting to God; this itself is enough to prove Jesus is not God. How can you claim that God came out of a woman?"

"Are you mad? Are you insane? How can you insult God in such a manner? Some of you Christians should be ashamed of yourselves for ascribing such rubbish to God."

This open anti Christ and constant blasphemer wrote every word of those quotes above.

I think the scripture I quoted today proves three things;

3.) There was but ONE God, thus eliminating the Trinity theory.

al, you give the matter of the divinity of Jesus serious discernment, prayer, talk it over with AND listen to other Christians who can offer a perspective on your grounding, and decide for yourself. The core challenge of the Trinity is explaining its consistency with a monotheistic God, and there are paths to follow. There are other places in the Gospels where Jesus does refer to his divinity but describing the Trinity defies human definitive expression. On one thing I agree with you in the matter for sure, you cannot appreciate his act of sacrifice without appreciating his humanity.

And, Al, apparently unlike connie, the congregation I attend is one for sinners, not only that, its doors are open to anyone seeking a right relationship with God. "Membership" is a human invention invented from denominationalism, and in our denomination technically it is qualified on one's assent to the claims Paul made in Romans 10:1-9, but... there is only one church, the universal church of Christ.

fairmon, please allow me to tell you the story of the son of a neighbor who was set up and fired from his job after he became what's considered a company liability.

Being a dedicated worker who never took a sick day until he had a heart attack, he'd worked several years for a local nationally well known company ( I won't name here). The first time the company welcomed him back with open arms. Even threw him a little welcome back party in the company cafeteria.

Well, one day he passed out on the job, splitting his head open and ending up in ICU for over two weeks. He return to work with the splint still in his head to continue to drain the fluid from his brain. This second time the company wasn't as friendly as the first time. You see, he'd become what's considered a liability to thd company. Management claims he got into an argument with his supervisor, which wasn't not true and fired him. Appearances can be misleading . If you met this individual you would not immediately recognize just how ill he is.

The point I making is, we are not doctors. People can appear physically healthy and steal be suffering a life threatening illness. I've actually read stories of people with a disability being attacked for parking in a handicap parking space because they appeared healthy.

The other point is, most people I've known who eventually and reluctantly sign up for disability did so under pressure from the company they worked, because the company didn't want the liability of that person passing out, causing injury or death to themselves or someone else, leading to the company having to pay possibly millions of dollars.

I've seen this pattern over and over with companies. Dumping employees who've worked for decades---then one major illness or an injury on the job and they want to get rid if you. Oh! The individual I mentioned above is also a military veteran.

Remember, people on disability have worked for decades and paid into SS. SSI is different. As its reserved primarily for people who become disable before earning all their quarters or for disabled children, such as children with autism and other handucaps. If you know a family with an autistic child or with some other type handicap, they likely receive SSI.

fair on, you're really not making any sense at all in your 9:48 pm post. A great majority of those SS recipients under 75 ARE military veterans. SS adds nothing to the national debt. It's an entirely separate issue from the national debt.

Inquiringmind, I appreciate the way you handled your disagreement with me over a religious viewpoint.

I'm sure that you are secure in your beliefs as I am in mine.

We can be friends and still disagree on that point, can we not?

I'm betting it is so.

I have a personal objection of sorts to the Church of Christ, but that's neither here nor there. It was a very negative personal experience, not involving anything I said or did and it was many years ago.

It is the only church denomination that I will never attend again in my lifetime.

That being said, I know that if I voiced many of my personal beliefs, I would be asked to leave, and that's okay. I've found some churches that I find to be quite comfortable and that I visit from time to time, when I need a spiritual boost.

You're a reasonable person. You understand that the belief structure of Christians in this country, is as wide as the Mississippi River. Religion is like that.

I don't happen to subscribe to the theory that one platform has it all correct. In fact, at this point and time, I find it impossible to believe that it is possible to find a platform that is the only way to Heaven. It doesn't exist.

At the same time, I think it probable that God is not a vengeful God, or that Judgment Day will be all that harsh for most of us, because the believe system & the Bible has become so %&(^( up and purposely monkeyed with for centuries.

If I am wrong, I certainly will not be the first person to be wrong about things like God, but I do pray and that is what enters my mind when I am seeking answers.

I would never speak for God nor tell anyone what to believe themselves. That is not my thing at all.

My posted truisms that come straight from the Bible are real, valid, and yes, controversial. I do not post them to blaspheme God. How could I be blaspheming God if they do indeed exist?

I'd love for someone to prove to me that I am wrong. It hasn't happened in many years, so that discussion and debate has never taken place.

Fairmon, you do a great job of trying to convince someone that their support might be misplaced, but you fail every time to offer where that support should be placed, and more importantly, why...

I am currently, firmly ensconced in the Democrat Party and that is not without historical and current evidence that my support is exactly where it should be.

All I have heard from Republicans is that entitlements need to be cut. Medicare needs to be cut. Nary a word is ever mentioned about cuts to the precious military machine or handouts to the world.

No...it's cuts to Americans first. So as long as the Republicans keep beating that drum, not one of them will receive my vote.

Libertarians are worse. You exemplify them quite well. Nothing else need be offered. I once thought I wanted to be a Libertarian. If people were true to their political selves, Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, Sarah Palin, and many others, currently trying their damndest to hijack the Republican Party, would have gravitated back to the Libertarian Party from whence they came.

Libertarians have never given a whit about anyone's pockets but their own. They do not believe is supporting Government, and yes, Governments are quite necessary and they deserve funding.

I'm all for income redistribution. Right, wrong, or indifferent as to how it got there, too much of this nation's wealth is in too few hands. That is a principle I refuse to back away from.

This nation prospered the best, when most of this nation's wealth was in the hands of the most people in this nation.

It could not be any other way and no financial system can replace what we once had in this country.

Greed at the top is going to choke this nation to death. It will happen after anyone reading this is no longer alive on this Earth, but truth will stand when this world is on fire.

Unchecked capitalism is just as deadly for a society and unchecked Socialism would be and has been.

A perfect society has a mixture of both and they are proportionally balanced.

The source of that list you offered ORIGINALLY came from this site:

http://thereligionofpeace.com/

It is a site dedicated to destroying anything Islam related.

You might trust anything you might read on that site, but you're not going to find many people with a brain who trust it at all.

Half of the "incidents" on your list were not religious in nature. The other half never happened. There might be one or two, at best, that even fit the criteria of involving Muslims at all, and in this nation, Muslims are most likely to be the victim, rather than the aggressor.

Far be if for me to discourage you in your quest to remain ignorant and biased. You're going to do that no matter what.

WealthInsight and Spear's looked at which cities have the highest percentage of millionaires, also known as millionaire density. Not surprisingly, the sovereign city-state Monaco had the highest percentage of millionaires. Nearly one in three people in Monaco is a millionaire (and the rest work for them).

Timbo, I'm going to prove that your list is utter B/S and illustrate why.

The description you posted for the first one your list? - A Muslim targets and beheads two Christian Coptic immigrants.

"2/7/2013 USA, Buena Vista, NJ 2 killed" - was a dispute between three men over a Mercedes. All three men were foreign nationals. Sorry, no Coptic Christians were riding in that car.

"A Muslim convert walks into a church service with a Quran and guns down his Christian father while praising Allah."

3/24/2013 USA Ashtabula, OH - Son did shoot Father, but he had an extensive violent criminal history. The man was still a member of the Church and there is no evidence to suggest he had ever converted to Islam.

4/15/2013 USA Boston, MA 3 killed, 264 wounded, Foreign-born Muslims describing themselves as 'very religious' detonate two bombs packed with ball bearings at the Boston Marathon, killing three people and causing several more to lose limbs."

Ah...the infamous Boston Marathon Bombing. The line that either of the two were 'very religious' is patently false. That trial has not taken place and so I'm sure the trial will illuminate all.

"4/19/2013 USA Boston, MA 1 killed, 1 wounded, Jihadists gun down a university police officer sitting in his car."

The description of the suspect is total incorrect. Tamerlan Tsarnaev, the dead suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings, is alleged to have killed that officer, in his attempt to escape capture that night.

jihadists my ass...

Timbo, if you cannot see how the first four on that list have not been skewed, altered, and outright misrepresented, then God help you.

The list is a machination of exaggerations, misleading information, and outright lies.

But you go ahead and believe it, if it makes you feel warm and cozy in your detesting of Muslims.

Don't arm yourself and go out and start shooting the first olive-skinned person you see.

July 23, 2014 at 4:10 p.m.

inq, what do you call what's going on now Iraq, love? Christians are being given the ultimatum by Muslims of staying in their homeland and converting, or being killed if they don't. If they leave Iraq they'll spare their lives as a third option. Explain how that's not hate?

You libs' feeble attempts to put a positive spin on centuries of Islamic violence and hate is laughable.

No matter what violent things Muslims do you'll find some way to defend them, whether it's posing the asinine question of "what did we do to cause this" after 9/11, or what's going on now in the middle east.

USA, no USA, modern state of Israel or no modern state of Israel, it doesn't matter, they'll find someone to hate and someone to kill. They've been doing it consistently since 500 a.d.

There's no way to separate antisemitism from this whole thing, no way. They flat out say they want all Jews to die, and they want Israel destroyed, and you still try and spin it.

Liberalism is disease.

That's got nothing to do with the United States. That is an Iraqi problem. God knows they know to be a Christian in a Muslim dominated country has all kinds of risks.

It would be an egregious misuse of the American military to use it to rescue or intervene just because a group of Christians is being persecuted.

I'm sure out there somewhere is a brave church, that is organizing a group to go over to Iraq to stand up to those bullies.

Or maybe not.

This falls under the, "what were they thinking?" question.

"You libs' feeble attempts to put a positive spin on centuries of Islamic violence and hate is laughable."

When it comes right down to it, I don't care about what goes on in other nations. I do care what goes on in this nation, and the Muslims don't pose a threat to me at all.

You worry about them if you want. It's your heart to explode.

"No matter what violent things Muslims do you'll find some way to defend them, whether it's posing the asinine question of "what did we do to cause this" after 9/11, or what's going on now in the middle east."

Sir, our meddling in affairs around the world is what caused those Saudi Nationals to board four planes and to crash them. Idiots like yourself will never get it.

"USA, no USA, modern state of Israel or no modern state of Israel, it doesn't matter, they'll find someone to hate and someone to kill. They've been doing it consistently since 500 a.d."

So what gives you any hope that it's ever going to stop. Our responsibility starts and ends at this nation's borders. I'm all for a strong defense, so long as it is always used in defense mode.

"There's no way to separate antisemitism from this whole thing, no way. They flat out say they want all Jews to die, and they want Israel destroyed, and you still try and spin it."

And I say let the stronger of the two armies survive. Let them blow each other to smithereens. If that means Israel is wiped out, so be it.

Israel is just as responsible for these skirmishes as the Palestinians are. This time, I think they bit off a little more than they can chew.

I hope they fight to a bitter end.

"Liberalism is disease."

Whatever you say slick. You'll never outwit us, so the joke is on you.

July 23, 2014 at 4:48 p.m.

We're supposed to be OK with illegal alien invaders overrunning our borders. If we're not OK with it we're called racists. Yet, not one liberal would be OK with a home invader breaking into their home and having that invader declare it to be their home, and take possession of their stuff.

Israel is supposed to be OK with HAMAS/extremist Muslims shooting rockets into Israel and having the Muslims declare that they want all Jews killed and Israel destroyed. If they're not OK with it, and defend themselves, then they're called haters.

See a pattern here?

Liberalism is disease.

You're making THAT a comparison to them simply walking over onto US land?

It's a stupid analogy and it always has been. What do I care if someone is walking down a street, but otherwise not bothering anyone or anything?

That is not the same thing as breaking into someone's home and stealing personal possessions.

See the difference?

Ah to be free to cherry-pick the particular verses one wants to use to define the Kingdom.

How in the world can we know God intended it to be temporary to share possessions equally. Is there some scriptural basis?

No, not really, the verses seem to declare only the reality that we drifted away from "true religion" at an early age, in keeping with Paul's lament: we know what to do, we just can't do it because we are humans.

But doesn't both Paul and Samuel say all government is instituted by God (at our request) and to be obeyed?

By calling government Godless, connie seems to embark on the heresy she decries in her own critique thus proving the truth of Paul's lament.

Poor Connie, I hope the parable of the dragnet does not apply to her but only to her sins.

"When we ALL get to heaven what a day of rejoicing that will be..."

Every faith has their own set of religious indoctrination. I was baptized and raised as a Catholic. 12 years of Catholic School back in the days when the students were taught primarily by nuns and priests. There was Mass everyday as well as time set aside for catechism during the day. In grade school, I received my First Communion and was Confirmed by the Bishop of the local diocese.. I went to Confession at least twice a month and received Communion regularly. I have never forgotten the day I began to question the Church's teachings.

There was this kid in school that came from a VERY DEVOUT Catholic family. There were seven kids and they were all like stair steps in age. If their parents had ever practiced any kind of birth control one couldn't tell by looking at the size of their family. Unlike the Kennedys of Massachusetts they were not wealthy. In fact, it was a good thing we wore uniforms because it saved on trying to buy clothes to keep up with the Jones's. One day there was an announcement made to keep the family in our prayers. None of the kids were at school that day. Their mother (who was no longer as young as she had been) had gotten pregnant with baby number eight. During delivery some kind of complication set in (in today's modern medicine it probably wouldn't be anything critical)and it was either save the mother or the baby but both couldn't be saved. Being DEVOUT the decision was made in favor of the baby. So now you've got SEVEN plus a newborn who are now motherless because the Church taught in a situation like that the Baby's life was more important.

I couldn't just blindly accept that. Does that mean I don't believe in God or the Catholic church for that matter? No, I think people have a right to choose what they want to believe. What may be good for one person may not be for someone else. If a person chooses not to believe or have faith then it's their choice and no matter how many Bible verses are quoted in the final analysis it's still that person's choice.

The type of tactics used by ConMan and his cohorts are despicable. They sit in judgement of those who don't share their beliefs. I didn't like the choice that was made by that family but it was not for me to condemn them for a choice I would not have made. I like to watch Bill Maher who was also raised as a Catholic but who no longer believes in God, Jesus or the Holy Spirit. That's his choice. I don't know if he's going to heaven or hell and neither does anyone else. There are fanatical Christians who have committed atrocities just as there are fanatical Jews and Muslims. No one has a monopoly on being right.

Seven other children needed that mother. Seven.

For me, it would have been no problem to take the child out of the picture in order to save the mother's life. None at all.

You're right about one thing. No one knows the status of another person's soul. No one is informed enough to determine who and who isn't going on to a productive afterlife.

If you could earn your Salvation inquiringmind, you would boast/brag.

Furthermore, you would be stealing glory from God who has declared that He will not share His glory with anyone:

"I am the LORD, that is My name; I will not give My glory to another," Isaiah 42:8

The majority of people who do attend a church actually believe they can earn Salvation by doing what they deem as good works and being a good person.

Damnable lies!

There are other "churches" such as the one inquiringmind belongs to who also allow membership to those who are openly opposed to God and who live decadent unholy lives.

These are the hypocrites that those who don't attend church and profess to be a Christian have pointed out as to why they themselves don't go to church.

Look at the list (see my 7:49 a.m.) of those who inquiringmind thinks are Christians.

It boggles the mind!

Witness openly Homosexuals/sodomites, adulterers, fornicators, being members of many false churches.

As opposed to those who accept Jesus Christ as their Savior and then adopt this faux self-righteous attitude with everyone else?

Yep...you know all about them, don't you?

"There are other "churches" such as the one inquiringmind belongs to who also allow membership to those who are openly opposed to God and who live decadent unholy lives."

That's merely your opinion and nothing more. I dare offer that no one opposed to God would grace the doors of a church.

"These are the hypocrites that those who don't attend church and profess to be a Christian have pointed out as to why they themselves don't go to church."

I could be wrong, but according to your posting habits, I don't think you've been attending church yourself.

Ah to be free to cherry-pick the particular verses one wants to use to define the Kingdom.

==============================================

Let's begin:

"Folks connie is at it again, speaking for and knowing the mind of God."

The word of God IS the will of God inquiringmind!

The Bible is the revelation of God, His person and His will to us, mankind.

This so simple, so basic.

For example:

“You shall not steal."

It is God's will that we not steal, inquiringmind!

You see, I know the mind of God.

Do You know the mind of God concerning stealing inquiringmind?

Stealing was wrong when the ten commandments were given to Israel and stealing is wrong today.

Now, the moral laws of God have never changed ; God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow inquiringmind.

Sexual immorality is and has always been wrong inquiringmind:

How do I know this? Read God's WILL for yourself inquiringmind -

For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: 1 Thessaalonians 4:3 KJV

You see, I know God's will. I know the mind of God on the subject of sexual immorality. Now you know His will also!

I am giving you a little of God's will at a time because I don't want to overload you.

I do not however admit to being an anti-Christ and I have never blasphemed God in my life.

The only way you're ever going to get any charge of blasphemy to stick, Mr. God wannabe, is to get busy refuting that which I surmise that can be read in any Bible in the land.

Until that day comes, you're just another Gay porno website operator with time on his hands to condemn others with your twisted understanding of Christianity.

The word of God IS from the mind of God inquiringmind.

The Bible is the revelation of God, His person and His will to us, mankind.

This is so simple, so basic. Now, back to specifics:

For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: 1 Thessalonians 4:3 KJV

"fornication" is from porneiva in the Greek from which we get "pornography. "The transliterated word is porneia pronounced - por-ni'-ah

"Fornication" in this verse is an umbrella term which covers ALL sexual immorality ; all sex outside of marriage.

Definition from Thayer and Smith. "Greek Lexicon entry for Porneia". :

illicit sexual intercourse

adultery, fornication, homosexuality, lesbianism, intercourse with animals etc.

sexual intercourse with close relatives; Lev. 18

sexual intercourse with a divorced man or woman; Mk. 10:11,

Old connie has it half right. Figuratively (Strong's dictionary) "porneia" means a state of being unfaithful or idolatry. It fits with the circumstances Paul wrote about in Thessalonians and Corinthians where he was addressing Greeks who were worshipping Greek gods whose idolatry involved practices such as worship of the body.

Literally as Thayer and other Greek lexicons say, porneia refers to prostitution and the general behavior of "harlotry" that encompasses a lot of behavior from incest to adultery. Our English word "pornography" is a literal construal of the word to encompass any explicit and illicit sexual behavior.

One misses the point when the focus is on the behavior and not the idolatry, because the behavior is only symptomatic of the problem. Fix the behavior but not the problem and guess what, you still have the problem. Hence the congregation is a hospital for sinners not a hotel for the righteous.

We need to give connie a break, she is just a victim of her particular religious upbringing. There is hope that she will find her way beyond what was imprinted on her in youth and find her way to a more effective enlightenment. She does not deserve our animosity, only our compassion.

You seem to have finally gotten it!

"Any" is the same as all.

Any/all sexual activity outside of marriage is illicit sexual behavior.

Now guess what this includes?

If you guessed:

adultery, fornication, homosexuality, lesbianism, intercourse with animals (bestiality) etc.

sexual intercourse with close relatives; Lev. 18

sexual intercourse with a divorced man or woman; Mk. 10:11, then you have finally agreed with God's word.

And yes it begins with idolatry, the practice of ones selfish desires to the exclusion of God's will.

And don't forget inquiringmind that the mind and will of God is contained in God's word, the Bible.

So, those who live a life of idolatry are living a life in disobedience to God's will and these will not inherit the Kingdom of God.

Now, see if you can finally agree with the mind/will of God:

Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10.
