J.C. Hill, 89, of Chattanooga passed away Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012, in a local health care center with his loving wife, Henrietta, of 65 years by his side.He was the son of the late Henry A. and Grace I. Hill.Mr. Hill was retired from retail sales and was a veteran of the US Navy serving in World War II and the Korean Conflict. He loved to travel and he was a longtime member of Grace Episcopal Church.He was preceded in death by his son, Jay C. Hill; two brothers and one sister.Survivors are his wife, Henrietta K. Hill; three daughters, Charlotte (Richard) Moore, LaFayette, Ga., Sharon Carpenter, Chattanooga and Carol (Tim) Redd, Aiken, S.C.; six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at Chattanooga National Cemetery.There will be no visitation at the funeral home.Visit www.heritagefh.com to share words of comfort to the family.Arrangements are by Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Road.
