Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Keegan Bradley, Steve Stricker, Webb Simpson. I went to the practice round on Monday and going back to the final round on Sunday. Followed Steven Fox through the front nine. He hit a shot on #4 that would win the jacket. I think this kid is a special talent. And I am really hoping he does well this week.
My only argument for ostracizing all known cheaters, is to reward those who did it the "right" way through hard work and training without the PED's and refused to put something in their bodies that could cause possible damaging side affects later. How do you tell a 18 or 19 year old kid, that has worked hard his whole life, the only way he can compete at the next level is to give himself artificial talent. That his natural talent and hard work are not enough to succeed.
I read sportsfan's question. My response to that would be, cortisone for the golfer may mask pain and allow continued performance, but it doesn't make him hit the ball further.
My problem with letting option B, be the remedy, is that all rules become "up for debate". If we are going to publicly condone the players that use PED"s, then the pitcher should be allowed to used a foreign substance to "enhance" his ability to pitch. OR the batter should be allowed to tar the whole bat. After that...could we please get the restricter plates out of Nascar.
Maybe I am too much of a purist.....but what happened to the undefiled pitcher trying to strike out the undefiled batter.
As far as Lance is concerned. You can say what you want, but scandal is the only reason that grown men whole love sports, would be discussing on this forum BICYCLING in France. Beware the dominating soccer player, lest we slide further into the abyss.
I am afraid there will be no real need for brackets. Just let everyone vote on Christmas Story or Christmas Vacation (for me it's a toss up). Maybe I missed it, but have you made comment on the first freshman to take home the trophy. What do you think about it now that folks like Herschel and Bo we disqualified because they were freshman. It can be argued that Herschel had the best freshman year ever. And if a miner in Kentucky and a toothpaste company are involved in a coverup, would that be considered a coalgate or a colgate?
Is it just me (and yes my dreams died on the 5 yard line in the Ga dome Saturday night)....OR is this not the worst bunch of bowl matches you have ever seen? I mean a Sugar Bowl with Fla and Louisville, an Orange Bowl with Fla St and Northern IL. I can't remember being more disinterested or disappointed in the bowl season.
Been just fine, except for stupid Gamecocks. As a Bulldog fan I have grown to learn how to be cautiously optimistic. Hope for the best and expect the worst. Every since that SEC championship game of first half missed opportunities and second half meltdown, it's hard to get excited until the the final score is posted. And even then you know there is another three headed monster to slay next week standing in your way of reaching the mountain top. While others in our midst have been able to accomplish this feat, we are a long way removed from Herschel and 1980 (I was 11). We hope, dream and even barter with God and how we will be better, if HE will just deliver us a National Championship, to no avail. I tend to hang my hat on those things that I can count on like....winter rates start tomorrow at Bears Trace. And shortly after we finish taking down the Christmas decorations, being upset about the BCS and filling out our college hoops brackets, we will be heading down I-20 East singing "Augusta, your dogwoods and pines.......". I have heard you comment in this forum, your limited belief in Karma. I would ask if you have put any thought into the possibility that Chizik "sold his soul" for Mr. Newton and a Championship?
5-at-10: Masters trek begins, possible new radio adventure, where does Geno rank

I will take Matt Kenseth (I still say he was the fastest car on the track Saturday night). And Danica finishes a respectable 12th.
