David , a thoughtful article. Do you advocate eliminating high school JROTC?

The safest place for a gun is on the store shelf, unsold.

So you're also hooked. It's refreshing to watch a quality drama rather than the usual network crap.

For the right side of the TFP to editorially admit that evolution exists and that the human species is more than 8000 tears old is a positive.

I grew up in the 40's and 50's when my meals consisted of garden fresh vegies cooked by my mother on a stove, so obesity was not an issue ("clean your plate").

If obesity is to be celebrated, do we also celebrate increased occurrences of diabetes and heart disease due to obesity?

The War on Guns will fail, just as the War on Drugs and the War on Alcohol (Prohibition) failed. There will be a lot of rhetoric by journalists and politicians and the passage of a few laws that will inconvenience rather than deter the gun user. We are in a period of stasis waiting for the next mass killing incident. Don't get caught in the wrong place at the wrong time. Avoid crowds.

Maybe a law making it illegal to possess a gun within a mile of a school and allowing law enforcement to search any person or vehicle suspected of having a gun.

David, how do you propose we regulate guns? Lanza killed the 26 people for a reason. What do you think it was?

A stupid, asinine cartoon. I don't think any man would rather hug his gun than his child.

This website needs a new webmaster. I keep getting "connection reset" messages and off-color displays.
